Designed to invigorate community conversations about human rights and the pursuit of social justice, paul mallett believes the annual evening event could achieve several interrelated goals.

Po: Could the annual event incorporate a ‘human rights’ lecture, specifically addressing the pursuit of a Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities in Tasmania? Could this component of the event incorporate the Launceston Historical Society‘s “John West Memorial Lecture”?

Po: Could the event also incorporate a ‘social justice’ lecture, specifically outlining a case study/lived experience of overcoming oppression or disadvantage? Could this component of the event be named in honor of the late Jeremy Ball as the “Jeremy Ball Memorial Lecture”?

Po: Could the event also showcase graduating PhD students with a “5min Thesis” event? Or could the “winners of the “Student Design Awards” be celebrated?

Po: Could the evening also be event where the Junior Citizen of the Year Awards are announced?
